Tweenie Dachshund puppies for sale originated in Germany and are one of the oldest (and most popular) dog breeds in the world. Characteristics

You may wonder, "Are Tweenie Dachshund puppies for sale any different from regular Dachshunds?" You'll see they're the exact same Dachshunds we recognize with their distinctive long bodies, stubby legs, triangular floppy ears, and long, wagging tails.

This breed can feature long-haired, smooth-haired, or wire-haired coats. They come in at least 15 color combinations and at least five different markings, making for a huge variety of unique puppies – a look for everyone to find their perfect Tweenie Dachshund puppy for sale.

Activity Level

Tweenie Dachshund puppies are active little dogs that are always up for adventures. They have tireless energy and would play for hours. Because of their small size and shapes, strenuous activity is best left for bigger, more athletic dogs. Tweenie Dachshund puppies enjoy games of fetch, exploring new greenways, and days out at doggy daycare.

If you neglect the right amount of exercise of 30-45 minutes of physical and mental activity a day, Tweenie Dachshund puppies can become bored and destructive. For that reason, it's important to build their exercise requirements into your daily schedule.

Disposition

The fearless, spunky nature of Tweenie Dachshund puppies will delight owners who enjoy their comical personalities. They are always alert and make great watchdogs, but you should train them so they don't bark excessively.

Tweenie Dachsund puppies for sale get along well with the family and other pets as long as they are socialized from a young age. They love playing with children if they are treated gently. This breed can form a strong bond with one person in the family and get jealous, so make sure your puppy is loyal to everyone equally.

Training

Training this breed can be a rewarding yet challenging experience. The key to a successful training program is to start the day your puppy comes home. In addition to teaching commands, it's imperative to expose them to other people, pets, children, noises, and sensations they will encounter later in life so they develop the skills they need to be good canine citizens.

Because they are inherently independent hunters of fierce prey and also very clever, these puppies are wired to think for themselves and can be quite stubborn. This can come into play with everything from housebreaking to teaching commands, so it's best to keep your puppy on a leash when out and about.

Grooming Needs & Care

Tweenie Dachshund puppies are relatively easy to care for. They will only need baths when they start to develop a doggy odor or get exceptionally dirty digging in the garden. Their haircoats will need regular brushing, and you may need to hand-pluck or strip your wire-haired Tweenie Dachshund.

These puppies have long, prominent nails that will need regular trimming to prevent paw problems. Because of its small mouth, a Tweenie Dachshund puppy may experience dental issues, such as crowded, broken, or abscessed teeth and jaw issues. They also may be prone to obesity and joint issues.

With proper veterinarian care, updated vaccinations, and a nutritious diet, your Tweenie Dachsund puppy for sale can live a long, fulfilling life of 12-16 years.
