Disposition

If you're looking for "Doxle puppies for sale near me," you may wonder what their temperament is like. To understand what a Doxle will be like, we can look at their parents' personalities to see what combination genetics may give you.

Dachshunds are affectionate, curious, hilarious, and spunky. Beagles are friendly, social, and loyal. If a Doxle puppy for sale is like both parent breeds, there will never be a shortage of snuggles or a dull moment to be found!

Beagles and Dachshunds are great with kids when socialized properly. Doxle puppies will be great with kids and match their boisterous energy levels. Make sure any children around Doxles know how to treat smaller dogs gently, and always supervise when they play together.

Both Dachshunds and Beagles are very vocal dogs. They'll "tell" you all about whatever is going on in their minds, and the whole household will know. Beagles just don't bark; they can howl, whine, whimper, and make other funny noises to get your attention. If you're looking for a quiet dog, a Doxle puppy for sale is not the best choice because they will like to talk!

Training

Both Beagles and Dachshunds can be stubborn to train, so a great deal of patience is needed for training Doxle puppies for sale. If you are consistent and firm yet gentle while using positive reinforcement methods, you'll have a well-trained Doxle in no time.

Doxle puppies are very food and treat-motivated, so use this to your advantage when starting out with basic puppy commands. To reduce "stranger danger" and excessive barking or anxiety, expose your puppy in its early months to all sorts of sounds, sights, and situations to create a well-rounded canine citizen.

Grooming Needs & Care

Dachshunds can have three different coat variations: Wire-haired, smooth-haired, or long-haired. A Beagle has a single short coat, so it depends on the Dachshund parent to dictate what type of coat a Doxle puppy for sale will have. Regardless of coat type, you should brush your Doxle puppy every few days and bathe them when they become stinky. Clip their nails and brush their teeth for great paw and dental care.

To keep your Doxle puppy happy and healthy, keep up with regular vet visits, give preventative flea, tick, and heart medication, and vaccinate on a vet-approved schedule.

These puppies can be at risk of being overweight, so limit the amount of treats you give them. Both Beagles and Dachshunds love treats, so don't let them trick you because they're cute and beg for them! Always feed them a great diet of high-quality food.

If you give them the love and care they require, Doxle puppies can live beyond 10-12 years.
